I do hope she got away. What a terrible thing to happen the family. Maybe love was strong and that soldier let her go..., possible that she escaped... Such a terrible thing. Nicholas was unaware of what was happening being so closeted and insulated from the outside world. He even asked his cousin's in the British Royal family if he and this family could come to Britain to stay. They ignored or refused him based on what it would do to Britain and Russia. I suppose the royals have got their reasons. It's still stinks though, whatever protocol you look at. A group could have gone there and positively kidnapped them and took them to safety in another country. Nicholas could have organised that if he had known very early on, I guess. An entire royal family wiped out.
